Eight Days Across Tanzania’s Northern Wilderness
Explore a varied collection of northern Tanzania’s landscapes on an eight-day safari through Arusha National Park, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, Serengeti and Ngorongoro. The journey moves from forested mountain scenery and elephant country to the endless Serengeti plains and the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater.
Itinerary
Day 1: Moshi to Arusha National Park
Leave Moshi and drive toward Arusha National Park, set between Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru. Spend the day exploring the park’s varied landscapes, including the Ngurdoto Crater, Momella Lakes, montane forest and open highlands.
The park is especially rewarding for scenery, birdlife and wildlife such as colobus monkeys and other forest species.
After your game drive, continue to your hotel or campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
After an early breakfast, travel to Tarangire National Park for a full safari experience.
Tarangire is particularly famous for its elephant populations and for the Tarangire River, which becomes an important wildlife gathering point during the dry season. Explore the park in search of elephants, zebra, wildebeest, antelope and other wildlife across its open landscapes.
Later, continue to your camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Tarangire to Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, continue toward Lake Manyara National Park.
Enjoy a picnic lunch before beginning your game drive through the park’s varied habitats. Look for zebra, impala, monkeys, giraffes, buffalo, hippos and warthogs while exploring the groundwater forest, open areas and lakeshore.
Return to your campsite or lodge before dark for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Lake Manyara to Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, continue toward Serengeti National Park and begin exploring one of Africa’s most celebrated wildlife areas.
Spend the afternoon travelling through the Serengeti’s vast plains, watering areas and wildlife-rich habitats. Enjoy game viewing along the way before settling into your lodge or campsite for the evening.

Day 5: Full Day in Serengeti National Park
Spend a full day exploring the Serengeti.
Your game drives may take you across open grasslands, around watering holes and toward areas frequented by large concentrations of plains wildlife. The Serengeti is home to wildebeest, zebra, antelope and numerous predators, making each game drive different.
Enjoy a picnic lunch during the day before returning to your accommodation in the evening.

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro
Begin the morning with another game drive in the Serengeti before leaving the plains behind and travelling toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
The route passes through the Olduvai Gorge region before continuing into the highlands. Arrive near the crater rim later in the day and settle into your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater Safari
After breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a full day of game viewing.
The crater is one of Tanzania’s most remarkable wildlife areas and offers opportunities to see lions, hyenas, antelope, flamingos and, with luck, the rare black rhino. Explore the crater floor and its different habitats while enjoying a picnic lunch during the day.
Later, return to your lodge or campsite for dinner and overnight.
